I have a long standing love/hate relationship with the ‘variant cover’ trend in comics now that it is back in full swing. That is that I hate that I secretly love them and they make me a bit of a hypocrite when I want to rally against the speculator market and falsely inflated values of my precious precious comic books. Yes, I agree they can be cash grabs at times, but they can also be cash grabs that are damn pretty to look at when done right. Right?
Well, the continued war on my wallet fired another shot recently when DC Comics revealed 22 movie poster mash-up covers for next March over at Screenrant, BuzzFeed, /Film, IGN, HitFix, and of course the DC Comics website.
Check ’em out below, with a side by side of the real world movie poster that inspired the cover, for handy comparison:

Well, all of them except the Aquaman/Free Willy one. That one I want to get tattooed across my back.
